Relay For Life Date Auction to be Held at Beta Theta Pi

This Thursday, Relay For Life of Penn State will be holding their 3rd annual date auction entitled “A Relay Affair.” This year it’s at Beta Theta Pi (220 Burrowes St.) and admission is $3.

Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. and hors d’oeuvres will be served. At 7 p.m., senior Emily Kulakowski will tell her cancer story as a reminder of what Relay’s mission is all about. Bidding will start soon after. Each date will perform a talent and bidding will begin at $5.

Potential dates include Peace. Love. Lyrical. Dance Company, THON R&R Captains, Nittanyville officers, and members of the Penn State Swimming and Diving Team.

“We’re so glad that students that dedicated their time to THON have started oi also put their efforts towards Relay,” says Maria Shevchik, Fundraising and Special Events Overall for Relay. “THON is an amazing cause, but once it’s over, the fight doesn’t stop.”

All proceeds will benefit Relay For Life of Penn State 2013. This year’s event is April 13-14 at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Members of the Penn State community are encouraged to create teams and sign up at psurelay.org.

To promote the event, the Relay Technology Committee created an MTV Cribs style video featuring Beta Theta Pi president and Greek Recruitment and Involvement Overall Grant Kovich.
