Les Misérables to Play at HUB LateNight

If you haven’t seen the movie version of Les Misérables, you’re missing out. Don’t fret, though. You have a change to rectify the situation by going to see Les Mis at the HUB this weekend!

Released on Christmas Day in 2012, Les Misérables is a star-studded, award-winning adaptation of the famous original Broadway production, set in the time of the June Rebellion of 1832. The film follows Jean Valjean, played by Hugh Jackman, an ex-convict who struggles to find employment after his release from prison.

Impeded by his previous guard, Officer Javert, played by Russell Crowe, Valjean resorts to stealing and robs a church. However, a life-changing event makes Valjean decide to relinquish his old ways. He becomes a respectable member of society and adopts Cosette, played by Amanda Seyfried, the daughter of his previous employee, Fantine, after Fantine’s death. Cosette falls in love with a French Revolutionary, Javert continues to hound Valjean, and the June Rebellion threatens to swallow everyone’s lives whole.

I won’t spoil the rest of the film for you, but there is love, dancing, battles, drama, death, revolution, incredible music, and acting that is out-of-this-world. For those of you who are as excited for this showing as I am, Les Mis will be playing at the following dates and times in the HUB Auditorium. If you can fit it into your Saint Patrick’s Day festivities this weekend, I would highly recommend it.

  • Thursday, March 14: 10:00 p.m.
  • Friday, March 15: 8:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 16: 8:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 17: 7:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m.
