Spring Career Days Are Here

Ladies and gentlemen, grab your button-downs, blazers, and your best schmoozing abilities — Penn State’s Spring Career Days are just around the corner.

First and foremost, if your resume isn’t quite as informative or eye-catching as you’d like it to be — or if you have no idea how to format one in the first place — stop by the “Resumania” workshop on the second floor of the Career Services Center between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. next Tuesday, March 19 to have it reviewed by HR professionals. That way you’ll be ready to hand copies out like Halloween candy once you get to the Career Fair!

There are two Career Fairs occurring next week– one on Wednesday, and one on Thursday. The former is the “Business & Finance, Communications & Design, General Management, Human Services, Liberal Arts, And Sales & Marketing Career Day,” and will take place on March 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the BJC. The latter is the “Computer & Information Technology, Engineering, Health & Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, And Research Career Day,” and will take place on March 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the BJC.

Whichever day you choose to go to, definitely check out the list of employers that will be attending so that you can research the companies you’ll be interacting with. Make sure you’ve got your “elevator pitch,” or a 30-second introduction, well-rehearsed before you get there, and if you’re still feeling nervous, check out the Career Fair website’s FAQ to ease your mind. Good luck!
