NFL Hopefuls McGloin, Mauti Release Videos

With the first round of NFL draft coming up in six days, two Penn Staters — Matt McGloin and Michael Mauti — have released videos over the last week to make one final statement to potentially interested teams.

Matt McGloin

McGloin’s video was professionally shot by Yahoo, which recorded his voice reading the impassioned letter he sent out to several media outlets last month. In typical Moxie fashion, McGloin explains the difficulties he overcame as a walk-on while the video goes back and forth between State College and his hometown of Scranton.

The video, called “Dream Chasers,” begins with McGloin saying:

“My entire life has been defined by the words, ‘You’ll never make it.’ So hard work isn’t new to me. Some people play football with a ‘chip on their shoulder’ — I live life that way because I have to.”

That should give you some idea of what to expect.

Michael Mauti

Mauti’s video is just pure badassery. It just shows the former linebacker lifting a ridiculous amount of weight and running faster than a normal man should run for a minute and a half, all with AC/DC’s Thunderstruck playing in the background.

This, coupled with the letters he sent out to every NFL team a few months ago, should definitely impress some teams next week.
