The Big Ten conference awards were announced on Monday evening. Coaches and media recognized the superb play of the Nittany Lions by naming 12 players to the All-Big Ten conference teams.
Two-time National Champion wrestler Ed Ruth was charged with a DUI from an incident a few weeks ago. Police wrote that the 23-year-old Ruth had a blood-alcohol content of 0.281 percent, which is more than three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
After watching Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg lead the Nittany Lions to an impressive 31-24 victory over the No. 14 Wisconsin Badgers, the Big Ten Conference honored him with his fifth Big Ten Freshman of the Week award.
