Top 10 James Franklin Student Section Selfies

When James Franklin took the Penn State job, be promised to be a Coach of the People — someone who would not only act as a football coach, but a willing and important member of the community.

“Me and my wife and my children will be out in this community,” he said at his introductory press conference. “We will not turn down a speaking engagement. We’ll get out and interact with people. People ask us to come speak at schools, we’re going to be there. People ask us to come speak at social events, we’re going to be there. People ask us to blow up balloons in their kids birthday party in the backyard, we’ll do that as well. We’ll do everything we can to bring this community back together.”

Well, there haven’t been any balloons, but so far Franklin is making good on that promise. He ventured down from his private box at last night’s hockey game into the Penn State student section, banging on the glass to intimidate Minnesota along with all of us and snapping selfies with anyone who could get close enough.
