Four-Star Defensive Tackle Thomas Holley Decommits From Penn State

Thomas Holley, a four-star defensive tackle from New York, has deccommitted from Penn State and flipped his commitment to Florida, according to Mike Farrell of Rivals.com.

Holley committed to Penn State less than a month ago, but Holley had developed a good relationship with Larry Johnson Sr., who recruited him. After Johnson left Penn State on Monday, Holley committed to Florida, which was Holley’s second choice before committing to Penn State.

James Franklin recruited Holley while he was at Vanderbilt, and even offered Holley a scholarship. Holley told the Daily News on Saturday that he was looking forward to an in-home visit with Franklin. There is no word on whether or not Holley had a meeting with Franklin, or if the two plan on having a meeting between now and National Signing Day on February 5.

Penn State now has 21 commitments in its 2014 class, including one defensive tackle, New Jersey’s Antoine White. Much of the 2014 recruiting class have reaffirmed their commitment to Penn State as well. Holley is the first player to decommit from Penn State since James Franklin was named head coach four days ago.
