TMZ: James Franklin Wants to Recruit Snoop Lion’s Son

As we all know, James Franklin has been all over the recruiting trail since coming to Happy Valley, picking up seven commitments in the Class of 2014 since his hiring. Could Franklin be looking to make a splash with his next commit? If his comments to TMZ Sports are any indication, he may be looking to do just that with the son of rap royalty.

Cordell Broadus is a 6′ 3″, four-star wide receiver in the Class of 2015 who is ESPN’s 52nd best player in America. While his skill on the football field is nothing to scoff at, he is probably best known for being the son of Calvin Broadus, aka Snoop Doggy Dogg Snoop Dogg Snoop Lion.

Of course, Franklin was almost certainly just humoring the TMZ guy and Broadus has expressed no interest in Penn State, nor Franklin in him. However, Franklin’s appearance is historic, because he’s the first coach in any sport in Penn State history to do a handycam interview with TMZ, which in turn, makes him the most hip coach to come through Happy Valley.

I suppose that you can say that if Broadus came to Penn State, recruiting would be Nuthin’ but a G Thang for Franklin.
