
Anytime 15,000 gather in the same place for the same event, there's bound to be a plethora of social media fodder. Add in the fact that the Penn State community has an incredibly robust social media presence, and it's a recipe for success.

Many at THON probably think Blue-White Society dancer Chad Eichelberger and Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group dancer Jackie Freiberg coordinated. After all, they’re the only dancers with Spongebob Squarepants balloons attached to themselves.

The Rules and Regulations committee members, better known as R&R, are oftentimes thought of as the party-poopers of THON. When your job is to maintain order and safety, sometimes that means encroaching on some people’s fun.

Jay Paterno took some time off from campaigning to come speak at THON this afternoon. Paterno had the crowd quieter than I've heard in hours as they listened intently, but at times, he had everyone cheering louder than ever -- thanks in part to a little light-hearted profanity.

As the fourth band in THON 2014’s line-up, Pistle Peg got right down to business with getting the Thon crowd fired up. The first all-country band to take the Four Diamonds stage is brought to you from Altoona, Pennsylvania. They must have had a pretty positive impression on last year’s crowd, because they invited them back again this year for a second go around.
