Graphic Design Seniors to Bring “The Follies” to 100 Thomas

Sixteen seniors from the Penn State Graphic Design program will showcase their video projects at the Film Follies tomorrow night, April 5, at 7 p.m. in 100 Thomas.

The Film Follies are a 43-year tradition orchestrated by award-winning professor and graphic design guru, Lanny Sommese. As student enthusiasm grew over the years, the Film Follies branched out of the smaller classrooms on campus and into the university’s largest lecture hall, holding more than 700 people. Even alumni come back for the event to reconnect with old friends and to give advice to current students within the major.

Though the night comprises a series of uniquely stylized films, the overall theme for “The Follies” focuses on a dysfunctional, awkward sitcom family that cover a variety of social issues, retold fairy tales, and many more subject matters. Be a part of the Film Follies experience tomorrow night to see what makes this event so popular.
