James Franklin Wants Throwback Uniforms Once a Year
Penn Staters in favor of black shoes and basic blues got some good news this evening from James Franklin during his weekly radio show at Damon’s.
JF said he’s talked to Nike about doing a throwback uniform at some point for maybe one game per year. “Great way to pay respect to past.”

“I love it … for other people,” #PennState HC James Franklin says about national trend of uniform changes. — Greg Pickel (@GregPickel) October 23, 2014
Of course, Franklin decided to keep the names on the jerseys after an offseason of apparel speculation, but the names were removed for the Homecoming game this year in a nod to tradition. Penn Staters are mostly split on whether the names should still be on the jerseys, but I don’t think anyone would be opposed to a once-a-year honoring of football’s roots.
In lesser news: That’s not the only former tradition Franklin wants to bring back!
JF talking about bringing bck Football Eve at some point. Team of course opened on the road the last two yrs.
