Get Naked With Bestselling Author Harlan Cohen
Penn State, are you ready to Get Naked? This Wednesday night, New York Times Best Selling author Harlan Cohen will speak on campus about navigating through the difficult and confusing world that is college dating.
A self-proclaimed “8.2 out of 10,” Cohen is the bestselling author of six books and hosts a nationally syndicated advice column. He began his career during his time at Indiana University, writing about his own problems in The Indiana Daily Student’s section, “Help Me, Harlan!” Cohen’s advice columns are now distributed worldwide. His book The Naked Roommate: And 107 Other Issues You Might Run Into in College is “the #1 Going-To-College Book,” according to the New York Times, and is used as a textbook in over 100 college classrooms. Cohen has said he thinks the book’s success is due to the fact that “it gives students permission to be imperfect – and that makes everyone perfect.”
On his events, Cohen has said, “My speaking career continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of my career…my shows are energetic, intense, funny, musical and unpredictable.” During Wednesday’s program, entitled “Getting Naked: Five Steps to Finding the Love of Your Life (While Fully Clothed & Totally Sober),” Cohen will share his knowledge on dating through personal stories and anecdotes.
The event, sponsored by Penn State Hillel, Penn State Panhellenic Council, the Interfraternity Council, and the Association of Residence Hall Students, begins at 8 p.m. in the HUB’s Heritage Hall. Students are encouraged to bring their cell phones in order to text and tweet in questions for Cohen to answer as the night goes on.
