Andrew McMahon to Play at Levels January 21

High school hipsters and trendy girls rejoice — you can relive your teenage angst on January 21 when Andrew McMahon performs at Levels. McMahon is best known for his time with Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin, but has recently gone solo.

McMahon made his debut solo performance in Hollywood in January 2013 and released his first solo EP, The Pop Underground, a few months later in April. According to McMahon’s website, he’ll perform in State College with a full band backing him.

Though McMahon has been recognized most frequently for his work in music, he’s also an accomplished philanthropist. During his time with Jack’s Mannequin, the band won the 2008 “The Good Woodie” MTVu Woodie Award, which goes to a group who’s had the greatest social impact that year. The band won for the Dear Jack Foundation, a charity they founded after McMahon himself was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005.

According to Ticketmaster, tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. All ages can attend, not just the 21+ year olds among us.
