Destress Before Finals During SPA’s Relaxation Week

While everyone is scrambling to pull together final projects, draft term papers, and buy the last copies of Nittany Notes this week, the Student Programming Association will hold its annual Relaxation Week to help us decompress before we take on finals. Take some time to treat yourself from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the HUB all week with activities to take your mind off school, if just for a few minutes.

Relaxation Week will kick off on Monday with a photo booth so you can always remember what your pre-finals stressed-out self looked like in the year 2014. Tuesday’s activity is the ever-popular lucky bamboo station. Get there early if you need the plant to bring you good fortune next week, because they go fast every year. On Wednesday, students can personalize a street sign for the perfect college apartment decoration, and on Thursday, you can kick back with a Boy Meets World marathon in the TV lounge.

The week will close out on Friday with SPA’s weekly noontime concert series. Friday’s performer is local band Lenina Crowne, whose indie-folk rock sound has landed gigs at Cafe, the Phyrst, and the Darkhorse Tavern. It also won battle of the bands last year to be the Movin’ On 2014 opener, and even got to play at THON.

So go forth, Penn Staters, and work hard this week so you can ace your finals. But be sure to take a break, too! SPA’s activities won’t take a huge chunk of time out of your study grind, but will still give your brain a much-needed breather.
