Distraction of the Day: Buddy the Elf Visits Penn State

One Penn Stater has been going the extra mile — I mean, he came all the way from the North Pole — to spread holiday cheer in State College.

Chad Willard, ’14, posted a Facebook video yesterday in which he galivants about State College impersonating Buddy the Elf. He really nails it by asking complete strangers if they want hugs and them wishing them Merry Christmases despite being told to go away. He is flabbergasted by the colorful selection at Campus Candy (R.I.P.), and makes a stop in a Penn State classroom and The Gaff to spread good tidings. He even pours syrup on a Big Mac and takes a bite, which is some serious dedication to character.

The video is actually a compilation of shots from 2011-13. It’s not surprising Willard could be such a bubbly Buddy — he now works for Disney in the entertainment department.
