
Year in and year out, Penn State sends players into the NFL. This should come as no surprise, as the Nittany Lions routinely field talented rosters full of hard working young men. This year's class is no different, as five former Nittany Lions from the 2013 class find themselves on NFL rosters for the upcoming season.

Penn State has announced that it will hold a university-wide memorial service in honor of former Vice Provost for Educational Equity W. Terrell Jones on Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center.
Jones passed away on August 19 after a battle with cancer, after being on medical leave for several months. A champion of diversity, he lead the university's implementation of its strategic plan to support the issue. Jones was known to speak to Sam Richards' SOC 119 class from time to time, which centers on race and ethnic relations.

State College Police are investigating an assault that reportedly occurred early Wednesday morning in the basement of Delta Sigma Phi, in which the victim suffered facial fractures and eye injuries.

Penn State wasted no time climbing to the edge of the AP's top 25 this season after its weekend victory against UCF. Despite opening the year only receiving five votes in the AP Poll for No. 46 placement in the country, the Nittany Lions are all the way up to No. 29 this week and receiving 49 votes.
