Snow Emergency Declared In State College

With snow expected all week, the borough of State College has declared a snow emergency, meaning cars need to be removed from the streets until they’re plowed.

State College will get three to six inches of snow tonight and might not see sunshine until Wednesday, according to AccuWeather. The downtown parking garages and lots will remain open throughout the snow emergency, and State College police are encouraging residents to use them. Cars parked in designated snow removal zones or parked in violation of any posted ordinance can be towed.

If your car does happen to get towed in the coming days, you can contact State College police at (814) 234-7150 to complain and possibly even get it back. Sidewalks also need to be shoveled within 24 hours of the snowfall’s finish.

In case you didn’t know, this snow this week is about to get real:

Stay warm out there. Though this weather sucks, hopefully we can get a good snowball fight on the Old Main lawn out of it.
