Visitor Charged In East Halls Trespassing, Held On $100,000 Bail

A visitor was charged with trespassing, underage drinking, and possessing a fake ID after an incident in East Halls early Saturday morning.

Penn State Police Chief Tyrone Parham said Jacob Mark Aboodi of Scarsdale, New York had a verbal argument with a female student in Brumbaugh Hall. The student asked Aboodi to leave and not come back to the residence hall after the argument.

Aboodi returned to Brumbaugh Hall a few hours later and was found knocking on doors in the residence hall when police arrested him. His bail was set at $20,000.

He is facing multiple charges stemming from the incident — one count of criminal trespassing, one count of possessing a fake ID, and one count of underage drinking, according to a court document.

Aboodi was also charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance/contraband by an inmate and one count of possessing a controlled substance by a person who is not registered after arriving at the State Correctional Institution at Rockview. His bail for the additional charges was set at $100,000. Aboodi posted bail for both of the incidents Saturday.

The band finished its set at the Phyrst last semester and “Build Me Up Buttercup” came on over the speakers. Most people continued with their conversations as usual, but I turned and glanced at at the dance floor. There were my parents, dancing in each other’s arms to the song that they used to dance to years ago at the Gaff.
