Dancer Reactions To This Year’s Line Dance

This year’s line dance is here, and dancers have had the opportunity to learn it for the first time. After having time to learn the moves and digest the lyrics, we caught up with five dancers to hear their thoughts.

Her thoughts: “I love the line dance! I love the first line, and how it has all the Penn State staples built in. The Chipotle/Primanti Bros. line makes me laugh every time!”

Favorite line: “‘Mo’Ne Davis came to play.’ I’m from Downingtown, and she’s from close to my hometown. I love her story, she’s so inspiring.”

Will Nauman

His thoughts: “I like it. There’s a lot of movement, and it makes you stretch more than previous years’ line dances.”

Favorite line: “‘We Are, Penn State Strong.’ There’s nothing more State than the phrase ‘We Are Penn State.’ It’s so meaningful, sweet, and simple. It represents what we’re all about.”

Sal Liberto

His thoughts: “It’s good. I like the references to other songs written in, especially ‘We Dem Boys.'”

Favorite line: “‘409, wins restored!’ Do I have to explain?”

His thoughts: “I like it. It’s really upbeat, and I feel like it’ll help keep everything energized. I also like the song choices.”

Her thoughts: “I love all the different elements included. They [the Dancer Relations captains]  covered everything: politics, entertainment, and all the Penn State related stuff.”

His favorite line: “‘409, wins restored!’ Because it was the right thing to do.”

Her favorite line: “‘Dreams grow in these small hours / Make them real, be empowered!’ I feel like the final line captures everything that THON is about.”
