Winter Storm Warning In Effect For Saturday-Sunday Of THON

State College’s ugly winter weather looks like it’ll effect travel plans for the majority of THON 2015.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Central Pennsylvania from now until 7 a.m. on Sunday, with 4-6 inches of snow expected today and freezing rain called for into Sunday morning. According to the National Weather Service, the weather will cause dangerous travel conditions and reduced visibility today. Though it’s a small condolence, AccuWeather is predicting temperatures that won’t be too treacherous — a low of 22 degrees tonight and a high of 35 degrees tomorrow afternoon.

THON already modified its rules for entry to the BJC at the beginning of THON, and since the introduction of the digital line system, lines shouldn’t be too long during the snow. The bigger issue here is for those families traveling to and from State College who will have to deal with the wintry weather. Let’s hope the pundits are wrong about this one, and make sure you stay safe out there.
