Jake Zembiec Invited To Elite 11 Semifinals In Los Angeles

Four-star 2016 quarterback commit Jake Zembiec (Rochester, New York/Aquinas Institute) continues his run of impressive form after receiving an invitation to participate as one of the 30 Elite 11 semifinalists this coming weekend in Los Angeles. Zembiec’s invitation comes after he tore up the field during the Nike Football Opening regional competition this week in Columbus, Ohio.

The 6-foot-3, 211 pound gunslinger kicked off his week at The Opening regionals with high testing marks at the Nike Football Combine, held prior to on-field competition. Combine testing included standard athletic drills — identical to certain drills seen at the NFL Scouting Combine — like the 40-yard dash, along with physical measurements. Zembiec received a score of 97.50 — placing him amongst the upper-echelon of recruits in the field.

Throughout regional competition, Zembiec displayed innate pocket athleticism coveted by coaches, while flashing his skills when it came to rolling out of the pocket (seen donning blue Penn State shorts in the clips below).

Now, Zembiec will prove his worth among some of the top names in the Class of 2016, including Florida State commit Malik Henry, Georgia commit Jacob Eason, and Maryland commit Dwayne Haskins Jr. — the top three quarterback prospects in the class.

If he shows well in Los Angeles, Zembiec will have a chance to become the second Nittany Lion recruit to become an Elite 11 finalist — with the first being former five-star blue-chipper Christian Hackenberg.

Best of luck to you this weekend, Jake!
