Andrea Wickerham Named Assistant Athletic Director

Sandy Barbour’s 2015 recruiting class is growing and growing, as Andrea Wickerham was named the university’s newest Assistant Athletic Director on Wednesday. The announcement comes two days after Bradley University’s former Director of Athletics, Dr. Michael Cross, joined on Monday with the same title.

Whereas Cross spent his entire career working for different universities’ athletic departments, Wickerham has been much more consistent. She’s spent the last 14 years at the National Center for Drug Free Sport, Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri, and before that worked as Luther College’s Director of Athletics.

At Penn State, Wickerham will oversee the athletic department’s human resources division and will work alongside the University’s Human Resources department.

“I would like to thank Lynn Holleran and the search committee for their work and putting their trust in me to lead the ICA Human Resources department,” Wickerham said in a release from Penn State Athletics. “I am honored to join the well-respected leadership teams within ICA and the University’s Office of Human Resources. Our goal is to provide a best-in-class working environment that enables every employee to do their best work every day.  I am very much looking forward to building collaborative relationships within ICA and with my HR colleagues throughout campus and the State College community.”

Welcome to the team, chief.
