Shades Of Blue A Capella Group Holding Auditions

Penn State’s premier a cappella group, Shades of Blue, is no stranger to the hugely diverse music scene in Happy Valley. The group has performed at THON, workshopped high school a cappella groups, entertained alumni celebrations, open mics, veteran homes, and hundreds of other events since their conception in 2003. Shades of Blue has been seen in numerous ICCA’s, an annual collegiate a cappella competition, taking home many awards over the years, including three first place wins in the quarter-finals. The musicians pride themselves on being a family even more so than a performing group. The current group boasts 13 different majors (none including music), with members coming from varied cultures and countries.

Do you like to sing, beatbox, or arrange music? If so, come audition for Shades of Blue! Shades of Blue is one of Penn State’s most popular co-ed a cappella groups. You can find us on campus throughout the year singing at various gigs within the community. We are looking for fresh faces to join our fun-loving a cappella family! Whether you are experienced in music or not, we want to hear you sing! Auditions will be held Wednesday and Thursday August 26 and 27 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Make sure to check us out on social media to see if you like what you hear.
