Candlelight Vigil To Be Held At Old Main Wednesday Night In Honor Of Tally Sepot

As news of this weekend’s tragedy reverberates across campus, Alpha Chi Omega President Nikki Szczepaniak and Panhellenic Representative Sammi Brentrim are asking students to congregate Wednesday night as a show of support for a fellow classmate gone far too soon.

The sisters of Alpha Chi Omega will hold a candlelight vigil at Old Main Wednesday at 8 p.m., and are asking students to come and celebrate the life of Tally Sepot. Throughout the night, some of Tally’s closest friends will speak, followed by an A Capella performance from a Penn State group in her honor.

Candles for the event will be provided on a first come first serve basis, but Bentrim urges students to arrive approximately 10 minutes prior, as they plan on beginning at 8 p.m. sharp. Students are urged to dress accordingly, as the event will commence rain or shine.

Students should bring umbrellas in case of inclement weather. The forecast predicts the temperature to hover around the mid-40s, so light jackets are encouraged. The sisters anticipate a large turnout, and will have 400 candles ready to hand out to those in attendance.

More information regarding the event can be found via Facebook. As of noon Tuesday, there are already 1,100 people attending on Facebook.
