Mt. Nittany Winery Hosting HalloWine 5k

If you’ve ever had the desire to combine drinking wine with a nice outdoor run, you’re finally in luck. On Sunday, October 25, the HallowWine 5k will take place at Mt. Nittany Winery.

The 5k route will take runners through the vineyard and give participants an opportunity to see the beautiful nature of the surrounding trails. Throughout the run, there will be three spots for runners to stop and sample wine. The featured wines will be Tailgate Red, Mt. Nittany White, and Spiced Apple.

The first-place finisher in both the male and female categories will receive a complementary wine basket. No worries if you want to attempt the race just for fun though — each participant will receive a HalloWine long-sleeve t-shirt, three wine samplings throughout the run, a wineglass (including wine) to enjoy at the completion of the race, and a goody bag regardless of finish time.

For those looking for some additional competition however, there will be awards given out in the following costume categories: best 80s movie character, best superhero, and scariest costume.

In case wine tasting and costumes aren’t motivation enough, $5 of every registration fee will be donated to two local organizations — $2.50 to State College P.A.W.S. and $2.50 to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society.

The race beings promptly at 10 a.m. and ID is required. Registration is $40 and participants can sign up here.
