Rapper Logic, Waverunner, Stephen Chbosky To Perform At SPA Day

SPA announced the lineup for its first annual SPA Day and features a number of high-profile acts, headlined by up-and-coming rapper Logic. The other performers are the band Waverunner and “Perks of Being a Wallflower” author Stephen Chbosky.

The headliner Logic, born Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, hails from Maryland and started rapping in 2002. His popularity has swelled in recent years, culminating in the 2015 album “The Incredible True Story” which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard charts and topped the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Here’s his highest charting single, “Under Pressure:”

Waverunnner is an eight-piece band from Philadelphia whose Facebook describes itself as “new wave/pop.” The noon-time performers will bring an indie pop vibe to the day. Its latest release is a cover of the classic, “Do They Know It’s Christmas Time?”

The final act is the author of the hit book and movie, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.” Stephen Chbosky wrote “Wallflower” in 1999, basing it off of his own experiences growing up and encapsulating the emotional maturation of a high school-aged teenager making new friends. The book was an immediate smash, being published by MTV Books and getting picked up immediately by teenagers who found it relatable. In 2012, “Wallflower” was adapted to a film which was equally successful, starring Logan Lerman, Ezra Miller, and Emma Watson. The Pittsburgh native also writes screenplays, including 2006’s adaption of “Rent,” the “Wallflower” movie, and 2017’s “Beauty and the Beast.”

SPA went all out for its first annual SPA Day. Come out to the HUB on Friday, January 22 for a great time.
