[Video] W.C. Clarke Coffee and Cheese: Do What Makes You Happy

Comfortably nestled on East Calder Way is W.C. Clarke Coffee and Cheese Shop. William (Bill) Clarke started his business from the ground up and has successfully run his store since his arrival in State College in 1976.

“When my accountant walked in that first day the roaster arrived, he looked at me and said ‘Big mistake,’” Bill told Onward State in 2011. “But sometimes, it takes a long time. More people began to drink my coffee, and if you drink two or more cups, I know I’ve got you. I know it, because I’ve got good coffee.”

Through loss, friendship, resilience and passion, Bill has found happiness in his work and shows no signs of stopping or slowing down.

Seen as vandalism among other things, skateboarding is often looked down upon by people in the community. With no skate parks within a reasonable distance, State College skaters have to find ways to enjoy their passion while flying under the radar.
