How To Eat Cheap At The BJC During THON

If you are going to be at the Bryce Jordan Center for a significant amount of time during THON, you will have to eat at some point. Food at the BJC is not in any way, shape, or form cheap. However, there are options within the menu to help you save those precious meal points while attending THON.

The easiest ways to fill up for cheap are pretty simple. First off, bring an empty reusable water bottle. It’s legal and it gives you free access to the water fountains on the concourse.

Also, try to bring small snacks from home. These will help hold you over and not force you to go to the concessions more than you need to. Stuff these snacks in your fanny pack, like many do, and be on your way to THON.

There are some options, like the fresh fruit and string cheese, that you can get for just a dollar. These options are surprisingly healthy, but similarly to snacks you can bring in, will only hold you over for so long.

If you need a real meal, which you probably will if you’re there for a long time, you will have to bite the bullet and go to the concessions.

The recommendation, as always, would be the chicken tender box. It’s also hard to mess up the walking taco and it doesn’t hurt that both options come in as the cheapest real meal on the menu. Choose for yourself and let us know what cheap choice you’ve found in the comment section.

Maybe he finally opened that sports bar named after one of his photos, the Blurry Zamboni. Or he might just be eating chicken tenders and couch surfing. Anything’s possible.
