UPUA Smoke-Free Initiative Inspired By Joe Paterno Tweet
Update: Finally! Thanks, Joe.
Original Story:
Success with honor looks a whole lot better without a cloud of smoke surrounding it. Take it from Joe himself:
sigarette smoke

Inspired by the ominous tweet from 2008, UPUA finally decided to take charge and take steps towards a smoke-free campus.
“We couldn’t bear to let Joe down anymore. ‘sigarette smoke’ is his first and only tweet — a clear indication of how close to his heart this issue is,” a UPUA source told Onward State. “We always knew how much he cared about students and Penn State’s campus. But this statement is almost too powerful. It really just makes you step back and think: What am I doing about sigarette smoke?”
He didn’t even waste a second uploading a profile photo. Correct spelling be damned. Punctuation? Capitalization? Forget about it. “True to his passionate, blue collar nature, I think he just opted to keep the egg avatar instead of a more flashy photo. He threw grammar and spelling out the window so people could focus on his most important message, and now our main initiative: no more sigarette smoke,” an anonymous representative speculated.
Thanks, Joe.
