Hackenberg To Be Featured On A Pair Of ESPN Specials

After announcing his draft entrance, former Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg is set to be featured on ESPN’s Hey Rookie, Welcome to the NFL and Gruden’s QB Camp. Hey Rookie, Welcome to the NFL will air Tuesday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN while Gruden’s QB Camp will air April 19 on ESPN at 8:30 p.m.

Hey Rookie, Welcome to the NFL is a four part series that features a variety of top draft prospects. Hackenberg will be featured in the company of quarterbacks Jared Goff and Carson Wentz. defensive end Noah Spence, safety Karl Joseph, running back Kenneth Dixon, defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche, and wide receiver Laquon Treadwell. The series will give viewers a look into the life of an NFL prospect in the months leading up to the draft. Penn Staters Adrian Amos and John Urschel have preceeded Hackenberg on this program.

Gruden’s QB Camp is a 30-minute SportsCenter Special that will air several times during April on various ESPN networks. This year’s special will feature projected first round draft picks such as Goff and Wentz again. The full airing schedule for both programs can be found here.

Anticipation and anxiety that arises among NFL fans around the country is typically caused by the grueling two months spent between the NFL Scouting Combine and the NFL Draft, so features like this should alleviate the waiting process. Hackenberg will likely hear his name called on Day Two of the 2016 NFL Draft, but the event will run from April 28-30.
