2016 Homecoming Game Against Maryland To Kick At Noon

You can’t win ’em all, tailgate fans. Penn State Football announced today that this year’s Homecoming game will kickoff at noon.

Penn State will look to develop a win streak over Maryland, which it beat 31-30 last fall at the Terps’ “home” M&T Bank Stadium. The Nittany Lions are also 21-1 over Maryland in Beaver Stadium, and a rambunctious (albeit tired) Homecoming crowd will certainly help continue that effort.

Homecoming 2016 marks the third year in a row that the match will kickoff at noon. It is the first game this year to be announced with a 12 p.m. kick, but with the three primetime clashes already slated in Rutgers, Iowa, and Ohio State, it probably won’t be the last.

The theme for Homecoming this year is “Old State Inspiring New Beginnings,” and will likely be tied into the game through different guests and activities. The week leading up to the game will feature Homecoming festivities capped off by the parade on Friday night and the game Saturday.

The count down for football season is on and Penn State’s season opener against Kent State on September 3 at Beaver Stadium is only getting closer.
