Men’s Basketball To Host Georgia Tech As Part Of Big Ten/ACC Challenge

Penn State added another high quality non-conference opponent to its 2016-17 schedule, which is already the program’s most notable slate in years given the significant number of marquee programs it features.

The Nittany Lions will play Georgia Tech in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge according to CBS Sports reporter Jon Rothstein. The Yellow Jackets will be another headlining game for Penn State after finishing last season 21-15 and making it to the 2016 NIT quarterfinals.

Penn State will play host at the Bryce Jordan Center in the 18th edition of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. The date has not been confirmed, but the games have traditionally been played the week after Thanksgiving on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.

The Nittany Lions have had success in recent years of the challenge, winning their game in each of the past two seasons against Virginia Tech and Boston College in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Georgia Tech, who were just under .500 in conference last season, will be a significant step up from the Hokies and the Eagles — both of whom came in last place during the season they faced Penn State.

The Nittany Lions are already scheduled to face Duke and either Cincinnati or Rhode Island at the Hall of Fame Tip-Off in Uncasville, Connecticut. They will also travel to New Jersey to play Pittsburgh for the first time since 2013.

Maybe he finally opened that sports bar named after one of his photos, the Blurry Zamboni. Or he might just be eating chicken tenders and couch surfing. Anything’s possible.
