Lift For Life 2016 Raises $73,000 For Uplifting Athletes

Another year, another successful weekend of fundraising for Penn State’s Uplifting Athletes chapter at “Lift For Life.”

The annual event held during Artsfest weekend, arguably State College’s busiest summer weekend, invites young Nittany Lion fans to partake in the fun during instructional camps as the Penn State offense squares off against the team’s defensive corps in a competition of skill, endurance, and strength.

This past weekend’s event raised more than $73,000 for Uplifting Athletes, putting Happy Valley’s chapter at around $1.2 million raised during its 14 years in existence.

For some, the event was a chance to receive hands-on instruction from the team’s freshman players during the third annual Kids Camp. For others, a chance to meet their gridiron heroes at the event’s autograph session created memories that should last a lifetime.

Donations, which can be sent directly to Lift For Life, are still being received. Lines will stay open until Sept. 30, meaning the total could exceed its current mark.
