Introducing Jobs.OnwardState.Com, Onward State’s Version Of Job Classifieds

Looking for a job, internship, volunteer opportunity, or work-study position? Now your favorite Penn State news site is offering a way for you to find a job at your favorite university (spoiler: Penn State) or in your favorite college town (spoiler: State College).

Que the introduction. Onward State is rolling out its new job “classifieds:” Jobs.OnwardState.com. On the site you can scroll peruse jobs available in the Penn State and State College communities from your phone or laptop without having to flip open the paper and circle things that might apply to you…plus, let’s be honest, who’s really still looking for a employment like that?

We just launched the site earlier this month so while there aren’t too many positions posted yet, keep checking back for more opportunities to get involved or get hired. There is one important application already on there though, so if you’re looking to join our team head over to the site.

The site is easy to use — you can either browse through the entire list of jobs or toggle different categories to tailor your search to a more specific type of position. For example, here’s the different categories:

jobs2

When you click on a listing, it offers a description of both the company and the job so you know what you’re getting into before you click “apply for job” which directs you to the platform the company chose to take in applications. Onward States positions, for example, take you to a Google form.

But Jobs.OnwardState.com isn’t just for those looking for a job; it’s also set up for those who are looking to hire. Potential employers can set up a posting on the site that will be sorted into a category and visible through the search feature. From now through September 1, job postings are free for anyone to post any position. The position will stay on the site for 30 days after it’s posted.

After September 1, employers can buy a job posting for 30-day cycles. Student orgs will be able to post available positions for $15/month, non-profits will be able to list a position for $25/month, and businesses can buy a 30-day posting for $35. The site is open to position, including work study and volunteer work.

If you’re looking for work in State College or looking to hire, start your search at Jobs.OnwardState.com. We’re always here to give you the inside scoop and now can offer you the inside edge in the job market.
