LB Jason Cabinda Out With Arm Injury, WR Blacknall Sidelined

Penn State star linebacker Jason Cabinda will be a spectator at Heinz Field as Penn State takes on Pitt.

Cabinda, who led the Lions with 11 tackles against Kent State, is the heart and soul of Penn State’s defense. He, along with Nyeem Wartman-White were expected to play integral roles in keeping James Connor from having a significant impact. Instead, Manny Bowen will start on the outside as Wartman-White bumps inside to the middle.

Cabinda’s loss hurts, and the front line will shoulder an even greater burden. End Shareef Miller, who broke out with two sacks against the Golden Flashes, is a player to keep an eye on. Expect Brent Pry to let him loose and give him the opportunity to duplicate last week’s performance.

Also announced was an injury to WR Saeed Blacknall, meaning Irvin Charles, DeAndre Thompkins, and Juwan Johnson should see plenty of snaps.
