Gameday Coverage: No. 7 Penn State vs. Michigan State

James Franklin and Mark Dantonio will meet for the third time Saturday afternoon on Senior Day in Beaver Stadium.

No. 7 Penn State (9-2, 7-1 Big Ten) is riding its first seven-game conference winning streak since 1994, while the Spartans (3-8, 1-7 Big Ten) are reeling after reaching the College Football Playoff last season.

Last Time They Met

The Spartans stomped all over Penn State 55-16 during last year’s regular-season finale in East Lansing. Michigan State holds a 15-14-1 lead in the all-time series between these two programs. The last time Penn State beat the Spartans in Beaver Stadium was 2008 when it clinched its third Rose Bowl berth.

Injuries

Senior two-time captain Von Walker announced following the Rutgers game that he would have to call it a career after suffering a knee injury. There’s been no update on redshirt junior right tackle Brendan Mahon’s status from James Franklin.
