Send Off The Football Team Before The Basketball Game Tonight

Penn State Football is on its way to Indianapolis. Although there are a lot of fans making the trip to the Big Ten Championship this weekend, there are still thousands who will stay in Happy Valley for the game. If that’s the case for you but you still want to show your support, the basketball team is here to help.

Penn State Athletics is hosting a send-off for the football team tonight before the Nittany Lions take on Georgia Tech in the BJC for a little bit of NCAA basketball at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and fans will have the opportunity to see and send off the Big Ten East Champs before they head to Indianapolis. The Big Ten East trophy will also be available for photo ops and will be located at portal 29.

The basketball game will also be the team’s “Back In Black (And Pink)” game and the players will don — you guessed it — black and pink jerseys to pay homage to Penn State’s original colors. The Lions have worn the jerseys three times prior since 2014 and have won each time.

There are other perks for fans who come to the game as well. The first 1,000 students will receive a free pink “Climb with Us” t-shirt as well as free food while it lasts. It’s also $1 dog night at the BJC for all fans and the first 2,500 fans through the door will get a free Mike Watkins trading card.
