Three-Star 2019 QB Taquan Roberson Commits To Penn State
Taquan Roberson became the second commitment in Penn State’s 2019 recruiting class on Thursday afternoon.
The three-star quarterback from DePaul Catholic in Wayne, N.J., picked the Nittany Lions over Rutgers, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and others. He joins three-star cornerback Keaton Ellis as an early pledge for next cycle.

Roberson took an unofficial visit to campus for Penn State’s 42-13 White Out win over Michigan, and knew soon after he wanted to be a Nittany Lion. The 6-foot, 185-pound prospect earned an offer from James Franklin and Joe Moorhead following his second time working out for the staff at camp this summer.
He’s considered the nation’s 17th overall dual-threat and the No. 10 recruit in New Jersey, according to the 247Sports Composite. You can check out his Hudl highlight reel right here.
Roberson’s high school teammate, four-star athlete Ronnie Hickman, accompanied him on his visit to Beaver Stadium last weekend. Hickman also has an offer from the Nittany Lions and is a top target for safeties coach Tim Banks.
Barring any shakeups, Penn State will have a redshirt senior Tommy Stevens, Sean Clifford, Jake Zembiec, and Will Levis on scholarship at quarterback when Roberson enrolls in 2019. The Nittany Lions may still pursue another signal caller in Roberson’s class.
