DOTD: Family Feud Thanks Blue Band For Tribute In White Out Halftime Show

When Penn State blew out Michigan 42-13 at the 2017 White Out game, a whole lot of people were watching. Despite all the College GameDay hype of the day, the folks over at Family Feud took more notice of the Blue Band’s halftime performance, which featured a round-up of popular television shows including Family Feud.

Family Feud was so impressed by this treatment that the show decided to shout out the Blue Band on its blog, writing a whole post about the performance. Blue Band Director Gregory Drane even spoke to the writer about the halftime show.

“I’ve been watching Family Feud since I was a kid,” Drane told Family Feud. “We try to pick pieces that have instant audience appeal. The show’s been around so long, I knew everyone would recognize the music.”

The game show was thankful in its blog post and congratulated Penn State on its Fiesta Bowl victory.

“We can’t think of a better way to entertain a crowd of rowdy college football fans — or really, any football fans,” Family Feud said. “We’re honored that Drane and the Blue Band gave us this shoutout and send our congrats to the Nittany Lions.”

Now, we can only hope for an endorsement from Steve Harvey himself. Hopefully he doesn’t shoutout the wrong team.
