Urban Dance Troupe Crowned Penn State’s Best Dance Crew

Campus hip-hop group Urban Dance Troupe (UDT) took first place in Penn State’s sixth annual Best Dance Crew competition Saturday night. Hosted by Infusion, the competition featured four dance groups ranging in style from classical Indian to tap.

UDT was formed in 2005 at Penn State’s Altoona campus, but quickly found its way to University Park. The group regularly performs, competes, and even dances at THON.

For the second year in a row, the group took home the best dance crew title. Popular for its fierce hits and crowd-pleasing soundtracks, UDT has also won awards at the Homecoming Dance Competition in 2016 and 2017.

Videos aren’t posted yet from this year’s competition, but here’s a look at UDT’s performance in Penn State’s Best Dance Crew 2017:

On its Facebook page, UDT describes itself as “a hardworking family that is passionate about spreading their love of dance across this campus by bringing a dynamic show to its audience.” This certainly shined through in Saturday’s performance.
