Four-Star Offensive Guard Saleem Wormley Commits To Penn State

Saleem Wormley, a four-star offensive guard from Smyrna, DE, committed to Penn State over Rutgers and Notre Dame Monday afternoon.

Wormley is easily Delaware’s best prospect this cycle, as the state isn’t known for producing many Division I — let alone Power Five — recruits. He earned his Penn State offer on March 24 while in town for an unofficial visit.

Wormley returned to campus twice more in April, including an appearance at the Blue-White game, before taking a pair of official visits to South Bend and New Brunswick in mid-June.

The 6-foot-3, 318-pound Wormley is the first Penn State commit from Delaware since Chris Godwin and Troy Reeder in 2014. He plays both right tackle and defensive tackle for Smyrna High School, but is projected as a guard in college.

Special teams coordinator Phil Galiano and offensive line coach Matt Limegrover are listed as Wormley’s primary recruiters of record. He’s the second offensive line commit of Penn State’s 2019 recruiting class, joining four-star New Jersey guard Caedan Wallace.

Wormley is considered the nation’s 13th overall guard prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. James Franklin’s Nittany Lions now hold commitments from 12 players as August inches closer.

You can check out Wormley’s Hudl highlight reel right here. A common theme is his love for laying out defenders via booming pancake blocks.
