Trace McSorley’s Touchdown Pass Streak Ends At 34 Games

Trace McSorley lost his FBS-leading 34 game touchdown pass streak in Saturday’s win over Indiana.

Although the streak ended, McSorley had a strong day overall, accounting for 327 yards of total offense and two rushing touchdowns.

The streak dated back to the 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl against Georgia, where McSorley saw his first extended action as a true freshman. It ends as the fifth-longest in FBS history.

In honor of McSorley’s historic stretch, let’s look back at some of our favorite touchdown tosses from No. 9.

Trace McSorley’s first touchdown pass to Geno Lewis was an absolute strike.
McSorley’s 20-yard dime to Chris Godwin gave Penn State life entering the intermission against No. 2 Ohio State.
Godwin was on the end of 11 touchdown passes from No. 9 in 2016, including this 72-yard bomb early in the third quarter of the Rose Bowl.
One of the Ashburn, VA native’s most iconic touchdowns was the game-winner in the 2016 Big Ten title game.
McSorley connected with a certain No. 26 on seven passing touchdowns in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
Trace McSorley has always had a flair for this dramatic, including this game-tying dot to KJ Hamler with 42 seconds left in the Nittany Lions’ 2018 home opener.
Last, but certainly not least, a bit of McSorley magic saved the Nittany Lions from an upset at Kinnick Stadium in 2017.
