Penn State Hoops Adds Three-Star Forward Abdou Tsimbila

Penn State men’s basketball’s roster grew once again Monday when it added forward Abdou Tsimbila to the team.

Originally from Yaoundé, Cameroon, Tsimbila studied at Harcum College during the 2019-20 academic year. The 6′ 8″ . 220-pound forward did not play in any collegiate sports while enrolled at Harcum.

He played high school basketball at St. Maria Goretti High School in Hagerstown, Maryland. As a senior, Tsimbila averaged 10.2 points, eight rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game, which led the league. He earned first-team All-Washington County honors in his junior and senior seasons.

Tsimbila joins new recruits Caleb Dorsey, D.J. Gordon, Dallion Johnson, and Valdir Manuel in joining the Nittany Lions’ roster this fall. The team will attempt to build on a breakout 2019-2020 season and get back to its winning ways this season after its recent success was cut short.

Owen Abbey

Owen Abbey was a Secondary Education major before he graduated from the wonderful institution known as Penn State. When he was not writing for the blog, he enjoyed rooting for the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens, supporting Penn State basketball and softball, dreaming of all of the ways he would win the TV show "Survivor," and yes mom, actually doing school work. All of this work prepared him to teach his own class of students, which was always his true passion.
