Onward State Presents: The Masked Penn Stater

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to The Masked Penn Stater, a twist on the hit singing competition, “The Masked Singer.” Five notable Nittany Lions have agreed to sing their hearts out for a chance to be crowned Onward State’s first-ever Masked Penn Stater champion.

Now, for those who don’t know, “The Masked Singer” is a reality TV competition where celebrities wear mascot-like outfits and sing with modulated voices so judges can’t easily guess who’s under the mask. The celebrity with the lowest number of votes would need to “unmask” themselves by the end of the episode. Then, the winner of the season would win the Golden Mask for their efforts of staying in the competition.

For The Masked Penn Stater, we’re doing things a little differently.

Our contestants’ song submissions are posted below. Each modulated clip includes a brief introduction, a song, and three clues to their identity at the end.

Once you’ve thoroughly listened to each clip, you’ll be able to vote for your favorites and guess who was under each mask below. On Friday, August 7, we’ll announce the winner, who’ll receive the ultimate bragging rights and be crowned the first Masked Penn Stater champion in Onward State history.

Without further ado, let’s get this show on the road!

The Goat

The Lion

The Fox

The German Shepard

The Frog

Who gave the best performances? Do you think you know who’s hiding under the mask? Vote and guess below and check back to see who’s crowned the first Masked Penn Stater champion.
