Pattee, Paterno Libraries To Reopen August 24

Penn State’s Pattee and Paterno Libraries will partially reopen on Monday, August 24 under a modified schedule, the university announced Wednesday.

The libraries’ ground floors will be available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. They’ll be closed on the weekends and open on Labor Day.

Group study rooms can be reserved for individual use only. The Stacks will, thankfully unfortunately, be closed for all students.

The Architecture and Landscape Architecture Library will provide material request pick-ups from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Additionally, the Earth and Mineral Sciences Library and the Engineering Library will provide pickup services and some study space from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, respectively.

The Physical and Mathematical Sciences Library and Eberly Family Special Collections Library will reopen later this semester.

Scheduled curbside services will continue at the library’s Curtin Road (back) entrance. Requested items can also be picked up at the first floor Pattee Library Commons Services desk. All book returns should be made from outside book slots.

Library services, including “Ask A Librarian” hotlines and one-on-one Zoom consultations, will be available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. For more information on renting e-books and obtaining course materials, check out Penn State’s list of frequently asked questions.
