Penn State Football Defensive End Lavar Arrington II Out Multiple Weeks After Surgery

Penn State football defensive end Lavar Arrington II is expected to miss four to six weeks after having knee surgery, Matt Campbell announced at his media availability Tuesday.

“Lavar [Arrington] got injured, maybe that second-to-last week at camp, kind of didn’t know where it was,” Campbell said. “We ended up going [in] clean-up surgery … We’ll be anxious to see where he is after we get through a little bit longer of a recovery process.”

Campbell confirmed the timeframe after Arrington’s father, Penn State legend Lavar Arrington, said his son had to get his “knee cleaned up” early last week. Arrington was using crutches on the Penn State sideline against Marshall.

Arrington appeared in seven games on special teams for the Nittany Lions in 2025.
