Penn State Hoops Hosting Coaches Vs. Cancer Initiatives Throughout October

Penn State men’s basketball will host a few events throughout October to benefit its Coaches vs. Cancer chapter and the American Cancer Society.

The first event is a virtual golf week, which is underway and will finish on October 18. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual Coaches vs. Cancer Penn State Golf Tournament was rescheduled for May 2021.

However, folks can play a round of golf at their own courses and choose to donate to PSECU Coach’s Challenge. You can also choose to enter competitions such as “best dressed” and “farthest from State College” to win select prizes. Contest submissions can be submitted to [email protected].

The CVC-Penn State virtual 5K run/walk will stretch from October 24 to the 31. Registration is online and $20 for adults and $10 for children. Those who register will receive a custom race bib and t-shirt.

New assistant coach Talor Battle will represent the team this year through Centre Pink, a campaign that works to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research and services. Last year, head coach Pat Chambers wore pink throughout October for the same cause.
