Nittany Lion Wrestling Club To Host Second Live Freestyle Event October 20

Wrestling fans will get another chance to watch some of the best Nittany Lion grapplers of the past and present when the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club hosts its second live freestyle event this week.

The NLWC’s streamed freestyle event will take place at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20 through its Rofkin channel. Just as before, the event will be held without in-person fans. However, it’ll feature many high-profile matchups between some of the nation’s top freestyle wrestlers.

With so many premier matchups, the freestyle event is once again highly anticipated by wrestling fans across the nation. It will feature multiple NCAA Champions, All-Americans, and two premier women’s freestyle matches. The event will be headlined by a battle between former NCAA Champions Jason Nolf and Bubba Jenkins.

Once again, the event will be commentated by David Taylor, a fan-favorite and two-time NCAA Champion, and Jeff Byers, the voice of Penn State wrestling.

Fans will get a chance to see some familiar faces with the likes of Roman Bravo-Young, Aaron Brooks, and Jarod Verkleeren. They’ll also see freshman Beau Bartlett for the first time in a Nittany Lion singlet, as he squares off against former Wyoming All-American Bryce Meredith.

The full slate of matchups includes:

  • Terrell Barraclough (NLWC) vs. Kyle Shoop
  • Jarod Verkleeren (NLWC) vs. Brock Zacherl
  • Alejandra Romero Bonilla (NLWC) vs. Alexis Porter
  • Greg Kerkvliet (NLWC) vs. Demetrius Thomas
