THON Dream Forward Campaign Raises $690,013.53 To Kick Off 2021 Total

THON raised $690,013.53 over the last 13 days as part of its second-ever Dream Forward Campaign, the organization announced through a virtual livestream in front of Old Main Friday.

The campaign’s fundraising total will fund one Four Diamonds research lab for three weeks, 80 weeks of child life support for those in treatment, three years of prescription copay coverage for Four Diamonds families, and approximately 4,200 hours of music therapy sessions.

“This campaign has made a significant impact and demonstrated our community’s strength,” THON 2021 Executive Director Katie Solomon said. “No matter what challenges we are presented with, we will keep fighting until the day we dance in celebration of a cure.”

Last year, the Dream Forward Campaign raised $701,331.64 to fund similar initiatives and programs.

THON’s fundraising year began earlier this fall during its fall 5K, which was hosted virtually this time around. The organization unveiled its 2021 theme, “Rise And Unify,” during Penn State Homecoming’s virtual parade a few weeks back.

THON 2021 will virtually kick off on Friday, February 19, and stretch through Sunday, February 21.

We (virtually) dance in 111, folks!
