Penn State Hiring Student Public Health Ambassadors For Spring Semester

For the second semester in a row, Penn State is hiring student employees to help enforce the university’s coronavirus mitigation policies and promote public health on campus.

Through Penn State’s Public Health Ambassador program, students work to “safely and strategically engage in dialogue with their peers” about mask-wearing, social distancing, proper hygiene, and more. They’re also asked to help answer students’ questions about Penn State’s current health and safety guidelines.

“This program has allowed me to combine my Penn State pride with my passion for healthcare,” team leader Ashali Salvi said. “This program has given me the opportunity to further develop my leadership and interpersonal skills, and has allowed me to directly give back to the Penn State community. I believe this program will continue to be beneficial for both the Ambassadors and the Penn State community.”

The job will be available from January 18 to May 7, essentially spanning the entire spring semester. It’ll pay a starting hourly rate of $9.50.

Penn State is accepting applications for the job through Wednesday, December 9. All undergraduate, graduate, and professional students are encouraged to apply.

To throw your name into the ring, visit Penn State’s online employment portal and search “Public Health Ambassador.” Applicants should submit a resume and cover letter, too.
